Stories from Our Community
“My two cats, Come Here and Fox, are my greatest gurus in opening my heart to the universe, not just with their constant presence but perhaps even more so with their physical absence as they left their bodies.
Those were immensely challenging periods… Anyone who has ever had their animal companion passing will know how painful and yet beautiful the journey is. An undeniably enriching experience, one that blessed me with many gifts apart from the tears and heartbreak.
Once I stopped fighting with Nature and surrendered to their death process and accepted the limited time we have together, I began to open to the fullness and joy of the present moment despite whatever outcome; give thanks and admire their calm and fearless attitude towards their deaths. I wonder if I can be the same for mine.
Their beauty and their spirits are always there with me if I look into my heart.”

Jacq, Gennet and friends were ‘Hope-led’ to continue Hope’s legacy by volunteering at a local animal shelter, Mutts & Mittens Pte Ltd, with the focus on supporting the comfort and quality of life care for senior dogs and their end of life stage before they join Hope and other winged-angels at the rainbow bridge.
Inspired by her experience from being a play personnel volunteer with Children’s Cancer Foundation (CCF) and being a caregiver to Hope, Jacq formed Cycle of Hope together with 17 people in 2017.
With the COVID-19 situation and the cancellation of Hair for Hope in 2020, the Hope & Beyond group hopped onto The Hope Train to:
raise childhood cancer awareness and funds for CCF to improve the quality of life for children and families affected by cancer.
expand the visibility of community, "You're not alone. We're in this together." and "You're not forgotten. We're here with you."
extend the message of love, care and support for children with cancer, including their caregivers and siblings.
